Colors influence my mood.
When I first moved into my current office, I painted one part of the wall a color. It looked great in a few pinterest posts I'd seen. But after day 3 of sitting in my office, I was agitated. The wall wasn't working for me. I called the painter to paint it to white. The painter kept asking if I wanted to give some time to get used to it. I didn't mind spending the extra money, I needed it painted white immediately. 🙄
A few weeks ago, an electrician came to fix a new fan box in my absence, and he replaced my white fan box with a brown one. When I returned home to find it, I immediately requested a change. No one else could understand the "big deal," except for me. I often say to others that just because something works for you, and you can manage anything, doesn't mean that someone else needs to. Until the electrician returned to fix a white fan box, I had mini anxiety.
Colors can greatly impact your feelings. You may not notice this because you haven't taken time to learn what works for you. We're mostly on autopilot in this life. The more aware you become about your feelings, the more you can tailor your environment to work for you. Sometimes you're frustrated in a space because when you look around, there are too many colors that make it feel cluttered. It differs from person to person. Some people say that white reminds them of a hospital or a mental institution. White is my happy environment color. I even make sure I send my white towels to the dry cleaners instead of throwing it in the washing machine, because I need them to stay white. Of course when you have a kid, you're stuck with multi-colored toys and items. If it were up to me, I'd only purchase items that had a black or white packet. Alas, I can't control everything, but the things I can control, stay monochrome. I have realized that when a space is monochrome, it enhances my creativity, and boosts my energy. I only recently started wearing colorful clothing, and even that takes some getting used to!
Here's a task for you - try this: This week, make an effort to notice the colors within your environment, and see what emotions they evoke for you. I'm not just talking walls, I mean everything including that green packet of baby wipes, your red adaptor, blue towel, pink bedcover, and the purple wash basket. 😑
Sometimes you're busy trying to figure out whats draining your energy, and it can be something as "simple," as the colors in your living space.
Speaking of intentionality…
Sign up for #RePurposeWithAdaora, a 12 Day Program that I developed to help you deal with some of the lack of energy or burn out that you may be experiencing. People often think that productivity is about continuous outward activity. But purpose and productivity are inner work. What you see on the outside is a result of deep inner work that must be done by each person. Being present, dealing with negative energy, food energy, setting boundaries, reframing your thoughts, dealing with pain, understanding and harnessing your intuition, manifestation, self-motivation...it's a list of INNER work that needs to be done...otherwise you'll keep hitting resistance and burn out. I know this, I understand this, and I live what I teach.
This program is for you if...
You are living purposefully but still feel out of alignment with your rhythm.
You have some baggage you need to let go of: it's not allowing you to thrive.
You feel depressed and need to self-motivate and deal with some of that inner turmoil.
You were on track with your goals before, and the covid pandemic kicked you off.
You've taken multiple purpose and productivity based courses but still haven't been able to practice any of it. You want to Live a real AUTHENTIC life of purpose across your pillars.
You want to be able to do great work without burning out mentally, physically, and emotionally.
This program price is set at N 100,000. However, I'm giving it to you at N2,500 if you sign up within the next 48 hours.
Don't miss it.

I and a colleague were discussing about this fact and he seem not to understand. He thought I was being too extreme and sensitive with a lot of things. But here, this's just true.
I hate green color, I literally can't be productive in a room or anywhere painted green.
When I moved into my current hostel, twas painted green😣, I was asked to just stay in for a while, I couldn't. I used my last 5k to repaint my room to light yellow, and I didn't feel any regrets.❤️
Most times people wonder why I love the colour black especially when I'm black, everything I wear is black.
Even my apps are dark themed but they don't understand that the colour black just gives me this peace and it doesn't affect my eyes.
