What I Learned from Talking to Birds: A Powerful Reminder to Slow Down
In a world full of noise, nature has a quiet wisdom to offer.
Sometimes I get lost in the rush of life, but I’ve been learning to find inspiration in the stillness—the simple things around me. I’ve spent years watching the birds in my neighborhood, and I know it sounds a bit funny, but those birds have become my friends. I’ve nurtured that relationship, feeding them, letting them feel safe.
Just recently, one of them built a nest on my balcony and laid her eggs. At first, she was nervous and would fly away when I approached, but I kept showing her that I wasn’t a threat. Slowly, she began to trust me. Now, when I visit, we just stare at each other, both of us sitting in our own quiet space. I watch this bird mothering her eggs, and it’s become something truly beautiful.
It’s a reminder that we’re all part of something bigger, something sacred. Sometimes, when life gets overwhelming, I pause and remind myself that the world outside of human interaction has just as much to teach me. The trees, the birds, the sky—they’re all part of this divine design, reminding me to slow down, ground myself, and appreciate the simple beauty around me.
We get so caught up in the chaos that we forget to observe, to connect with the world that God has placed around us. But the more I tune into nature, the more I feel aligned. The more I can hear God, in the smallest of things—the chirp of a bird, the rustling of leaves.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, I invite you to take a breath and step outside. Look at the sky, listen to the birds, and remember—you’re part of something vast and purposeful. You’re here for a reason.
Love,
Lumina
