Together we're stronger.
Life works in seasons.
I love how the Book of Ecclesiastes breaks it down. I've always believed that the way you act when it's your time, and the spotlight is on you, says a lot about your true character than that which you project. This applies to all aspects of our lives: friendship, family, marriage, business, etc. In a marriage, one partner may be in a time of harvest, while the other is planting. In a business, one person may gain the spotlight for a particular period of time, while others experience down time. In a friendship, one friend may have a great winning streak, while the other struggles. In a family, one sibling may be the breadwinner for a period of time.Â
In all of this, I have seen people misuse the harvest. If we all understood that my time, really means OUR time….
My time means, ‘come with me and let's pull all this fish into the boat. If I pull alone, I'll catch 10 fish. If we pull together, we will catch a thousand.’ Every single person with whom we have chosen to share our lives with, has a part to play in the grand scheme of things. This is one lesson that I have tried hard to drill into people that I've met on my life's journey. It is the one thing I have seen many people struggle with. Only a few truly understand it. I remember one of the first things I said to my incredible brother who is a violinist - when I started managing him, I said...."You're planning for your career and your dreams. I, on the other hand...I am planning to ensure that God forbid your hand ever breaks, and you cannot play the violin, you will be fine for the rest of your life." He has understood this deeply, and even when the journey gets tough, and we have our moments...he gets it.Â
We're all connected. This understanding of Time, Seasons, and Changing Tides is important. I always say, "Today for you, Tomorrow for me."
Together, we are stronger.
