The average person thinks around 70,000 thoughts a day. That’s a lot of thoughts. Even when we think we’re resting or relaxing, or in what we call a “good place,” our brains are working over time creating thoughts and stories that end up stressing us in some way. There’s actually research out there that shows how negative thoughts can cause brain damage. Basically, the more rough thoughts you have, the more likely you are to damage your brain over time. I don’t know about you, but that is scary information. As humans with a mind, and an overactive brain, we spend a lot of time thinking throughout the day.
